In this Area, i will look at half life 1 enemys and do a simple review of them, lets get on with it!

1: Headcrab (Cephalocancer vulgaris).

Usually the first thing that comes to mind when you think "Xen fauna", The Headcrab (aka Headhumper) is a parasitic species that latches onto its victim. Carves out a hole in their head and hijacks their central nervous system and mutates them to grow larg claws and a large mouth-like opening on its stomach, which it seemingly feeds from. From what we see in the games, its zombie form is carnivorous, though it would make sense if it could only digest the things its host could, like if it latched onto a herbivorous creature, it would only be able to eat plants, etc, but on its own it would most likely be omnivorous from the fact that it would probably have to scrounge up whatever it could find, just to survive. Theyre rather weak on their own, but in groups they can be very dangerous. Fun fact: in the original models from hl1 it had 6 small, beady eyes. Sadly, the eyes were removed in the hl2 and hl alyx models.

2: Houndeyes (Sonicanis myriops)

Houndeyes are small, carnivorous, doglike organisms. They hunt in packs of up to 4-5 and they become weaker the less pack members there are. They attack using loud, high-pitched yelps, these yelps can cause internal bleeding and deafness. They have small beaks on the underside of their bodys. Originally, Houndeyes where supposed to also be in hl2. They were significantly slimmer due to the combine occupation of earth leaving significantly less sources of food and causing the to starve. The models also tell us that they have small hairs on their eyes.
